ERA.

(ARTICLE INCLUDED IN EXHIBIT).

EXHIBIT 206JH "DRAUGHTSMAN BY CHAD VALLEY"
SHOWN IS A VERY RARE (ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN) SET OF "DRAUGHTSMEN", MANUFACTURED BY THE CHAD
VALLEY COMPANY, LTD., HARBORNE, ENGLAND,..."BY APPOINTMENT, TOYMAKERS TO HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN".
THE SET IS ADVERTISED AS BEING THE AUTHORISED DESIGN OF THE ENGLISH DRAUGHTS ASSOCIATION.
THE PIECES MEASURE 1 1/4 INCH ACROSS, AND ARE JUST OVER 5/16 INCH THICK, WITH A CONCENTRIC PATTERN , DIFFERENT
ON EACH SIDE. THIS ALLOWS FOR THE PIECES TO INTERLOCK WITH EACH OTHER, AND PREVENTS THE TOP PIECE FROM SLIDING OFF THE BOTTOM
PIECE AFTER IT IS "PROMOTED" TO A KING.
THE SET WAS PURCHASED ON EBAY BY JAY HINNERSHITZ FROM A SELLER IN ENGLAND WHO WAS UNAWARE OF THE PREVIOUS OWNER,
AS IT WAS PURCHASED AT AN ESTATE SALE.

EXHIBIT 204JR "CHECKERBOARD WITH CARTOON CHARACTERS"
EXHIBITED IS A RARE ANTIQUE BOARD THAT WOULD APPEAL TO COLLECTORS OF CHECKERS AND COMICS/CARTOONS.
FROM MS. JILL REED..... "I've never seen
this before. The characters are from several different comic strips. I see both Mutt and Jeff, Maggie and Jiggs (from Bringing
Up Father), "Spark Plug" (the horse from Barney Google), Barney Google himself, "Little Jimmy," also Andy Gump and at least
one of the characters from "Gasoline Alley," among others. Also, "the Captain," which is the only Katzenjammer Kids character
in the group.
The above note was from a very helpful online Katzenjammer buff that I emailed, I'm afraid most of these were way before my
time. This is a rare find for any antique cartoon character fan. The board is marked copyright 1923 by Elmer E Roberts Jr..
The back of the board looks like it has watermarks but the spine is strong and the cartoons
are good, the corners are dinged, but in good condition for 88 years old!"
THE OWNER OF THIS BOARD ALSO NOTES THAT THIS WOULD BE AVAILABLE
FOR PURCHASE TO ANY INTERESTED PARTY.

ON DISPLAY IS A "TRAVEL" SET OF CHECKERS.

THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS PRODUCT HAD IN MIND WHEN THEY CHOOSE TO CREATE THIS PRODUCT. AS NOTED BY THE OWNER, MR. ERIC VAN
LAER, THE ONLY MARKING ON THE ENTIRE SET IS "MADE IN GERMANY".
THE BOARD ITSELF IS FOLDING, AND MEASURES 7 7/8 INCHES BY 7 1/8 INCHES WHEN UNFOLDED,
AND HAS TWELVE PLAIN PIECES FOR EACH SIDE, AND FOUR PIECES WITH A CROWN TO REPRESENT A PIECE PROMOTED TO A KING.
